Belfast Foyer Bytes staff have been providing an outreach service to Rathcoole Bytes. EOTAS (Education Other Than At School) have been attending Rathcoole Bytes for two years; both organisations have built up a strong working relationship. EOTAS expressed interest in carrying out a project that focuses on employment and further education, CCEA employment skills level 1 would therefore be ideal as it looks at; barriers to employment, interview preparation/techniques, looking at personal qualities and skills. The young people who attend EOTAS have been excluded from mainstream education, for various reasons. CCEA employment skills would mean that the young people gain a qualification, which could lead them to full time employment. 8 young people completed the project and gained a qualification.
