Currently all Bytes centres are offering the following accredited qualifications:
Youth Achievement Awards
Youth Achievement Awards is a nationally recognised scheme for accrediting young people’s achievements and learning as they participate in youth work programmes. This offers young people the opportunity to be involved in the decision making process; by developing programmes based on their interests. This helps to encourage and empower young people in taking ownership of their activities and learning.
There are four levels of the Award & Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
CCEA – Occupational Studies
A new type of qualification rooted in practical and occupational contexts. Designed to relate to the National Occupational Standards and raise levels of achievement, motivation and self esteem. The Bytes Project now can offer its young users the opportunity to gain a qualification in Digital Technologies, which is made up of four units: Digital Music Composition, Digital Imaging, Digital Video Editing and Internet Authoring.
OCR – Entry Level Certificate in Using ICT (Entry 3)
This qualification which we successfully deliver has been designed to recognise candidate’s practical skills in using information technology to carry out straightforward tasks in a range of vocational contexts. It has been designed to encourage an active learning approach that will be appropriate for post 16 learners as well as providing a practical introduction for those who are new to using ICT. The qualification contains four units, each focusing on a different use of ICT – displaying information, searching for information, communicating information and producing graphs from numerical information.
OCR – Entry Level Certificate in Job-Seeking Skills
The Job-seeking Skills qualification has been designed to develop candidates' awareness of career opportunities and to encourage the development of practical skills in job seeking and career planning. Candidates will develop skills in researching jobs and careers and identifying personal career goals. This will enable them to match skills and abilities to appropriate jobs and careers. Candidates will also develop skills in presenting personal information effectively.
Bytes centres also offer non-accredited qualifications including:
