The Bytes Cross Border Project
– An Overview
Project Description -
This project is a cross border project between two groups of 10 16-25
unemployed young people one group from DerryBytes and one group from
Inishowen in Donegal. The two groups will meet in DerryBytes to carryout an
ICT project that will involve the production of a newsletter and a web site.
The two groups will also visit places of interest in Donegal and Derry that
will help to promote social inclusion and mutual understanding between the
groups.
Project
Locations
-
The Project is
run between the Derry
Bytes centre
(incorporating
The Strand Foyer)
and
venues in
the Inishowen Peninsula. So far the project has been based at
Buncrana
Youth
Club
(Programmes 1&2). The 3rd took place between Buncrana YC and Clonmany YC. It is hoped that the 4th programme will be based
at a new location in Inishowen, in order to involve other centres and youth
groups.
The Project also includes
visits in Derry and Donegal,
as well as the Project Exchange Residential, that took place in Ballyhome,
near Portrush, Co. Antrim in May 2004. It is hoped that another
Residential will take place in June 2005 as part of the 4th and final
programme.

Aim
-
The
young people will produce a web site containing information on youth

This project will be of benefit to local community and youth organisations
