Hi everyone! I’m Adele, an Italian student here in Derry to have a work experience. I’m going to share with you some of my thoughts about my stay here and my work at Bytes Project. Hope you enjoy my text!
I’m here in NI thanks to Erasmus+ project, a scholarship that consists in five weeks abroad to work and learn the language. I stay in a family with a girl of my group that I only met the day of our arrive here.
When I arrived here in Derry I immediately noted the weather: Northern Ireland is colder than my country and it also rains a lot. Also the food, I miss Italian dishes even if also here food is nice but not as good and healthy as the Italian one.
One thing that I really like about this place is people’s behaviour: they are really friendly and kind, you can start talking to a person never met before and he will help you and he will let you feel home.
Northern Ireland is a really beautiful place: I loved Giant’s Causeway and the amazing landscapes that you can find there. There many places interesting to visit! They’re so different from the place where I live and for this reason it’s so exciting being here and seeing this places!
What can I say about my family host? So nice and kind, they have two little kids, I enjoy talking with all them and share our habits and culture also because they’re really different.
And about bytes? So friendly and kind! My colleagues always make me laugh! I like working here, we do a lot of interesting things. Very good atmosphere!
So, to sum up, I can say that Derry it’s a good place to visit, to work, to meet new people and to improve your English of course!!
