About Us
Big Lottery Fund
The Bytes Project has received funding from Big Lottery Fund’s Reaching Communities Northern Ireland Grant to deliver our Young People Reconnection and Engagement Programme.
The aim of the project is to engage with disadvantaged unemployed and homeless 16 to 25 year olds with learning and education difficulties through the creative use of information and communication technology (ICT).
This will be achieved by establishing a Bytes centre in Belfast Foyer/Simon community which will deliver a range of community learning in an informal setting and accommodate the major personal issues and priorities that make it difficult for these young people to commit fully to ‘training programmes’.
This learning will be linked to overall personal development plans and provide progression routes to Further Education, training and employment enabling participants to take control of, and make positive changes to their lives.
